Privacy policy
This policy explains how GetUp App handles personal information when you use GetUp, the GetUp website, the beta signup flow, web Fit Check, TestFlight beta, and related emails.
Privacy contact and notification email: hello@getup.style.
Who we are
GetUp is a personal styling service that helps you build a wardrobe catalogue, generate outfits, check real outfit photos, create visual inspiration, and manage shopping ideas. For this policy, GetUp App, GetUp, we, us, and our refer to the team responsible for the GetUp service.
If you have a privacy question, want to exercise your rights, or need to send a privacy notification, email hello@getup.style.
What we collect
The information we collect depends on which parts of GetUp you use. It may include:
- Account and contact details, including email address, Sign in with Apple or email login details, optional name, beta application answers, region, consent choices, and support messages.
- Style profile details, including display name, shopping region, gender style context, style goals, dress codes, budget, climate notes, size and fit notes, disliked colours and fits, favourite descriptors, and feedback you give.
- Wardrobe, outfit, and shopping content, including clothing photos, item metadata, product URLs, generated outfits, wishlist items, shopping recommendations, wear events, saved looks, style boards, and generated images.
- Photos and AI inputs, including reference photos, style avatar inputs and outputs, outfit photos, garment photos, Fit Check questions, follow-up chat, and the wardrobe or profile context needed to produce a result.
- Website and beta usage data, including source and referrer URLs, UTM campaign parameters, user agent, client session identifiers, Fit Check funnel events, and timestamps.
- Commercial and entitlement data, including TestFlight status, App Store subscription product identifiers, transaction or entitlement status, quota use, and email delivery records.
How we use it
We use personal information to:
- Provide the app, website, beta list, web Fit Check, wardrobe storage, outfit generation, style boards, try-on previews, wishlist, subscriptions, and customer support.
- Personalise styling results using your wardrobe, preferences, profile context, previous feedback, and saved activity.
- Run AI features, quality checks, usage quotas, internal cost monitoring, reliability diagnostics, and abuse prevention.
- Manage beta access, TestFlight onboarding, tester feedback, consent evidence, and optional product updates.
- Send marketing emails only where you have opted in, and honour unsubscribe or withdrawal requests.
- Protect GetUp, comply with legal obligations, maintain records, debug errors, and improve the safety and usefulness of the service.
Lawful bases
Where UK GDPR or similar privacy laws apply, we rely on different lawful bases depending on the activity: contract, to provide requested app and website features; consent, for optional marketing, beta contact, uploaded photos you choose to submit, and some personalisation choices; legitimate interests, for service security, debugging, usage measurement, product improvement, internal notifications, and fraud prevention; and legal obligation, where we must keep records or respond to valid legal requests.
Photos, AI, and styling outputs
GetUp works by analysing information you choose to provide, including wardrobe photos, outfit photos, reference photos, item details, profile preferences, and prompts. These inputs may be sent to GetUp backend functions and AI providers so we can return clothing metadata, outfit ideas, Fit Check feedback, try-on previews, style boards, image quality checks, and related results.
We do not use outfit critique to rate your body or attractiveness. Styling outputs are suggestions and may be inaccurate. You should avoid uploading photos or notes that include information you do not want processed for styling purposes.
Website cookies and tracking
The website does not use advertising trackers in this version. The public Fit Check may set a necessary cookie to remember that a device has used its free web Fit Check. We also record lightweight funnel events, such as page visits, uploads, results, TestFlight clicks, optional beta update signups, referrer details, user agent, campaign parameters, and client session identifiers so we can understand whether the beta flow is working.
Marketing and beta contact
Beta contact and marketing consent are separate. We may contact you about beta access, TestFlight onboarding, the 7-day test brief, and tester feedback where you ask to join the beta. We send product updates, styling tips, launch perks, or onboarding emails only where you opt in. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link, and you can also withdraw consent by emailing hello@getup.style.
Who we share it with
We share information only where needed to run GetUp, process your requests, maintain the service, or comply with the law. Our service providers may include:
- Supabase, for authentication, database records, storage, edge functions, and backend jobs.
- OpenAI, for AI analysis, text generation, image generation, image editing, and quality assessment used by styling features.
- Apple, including Sign in with Apple, TestFlight, StoreKit, App Store subscriptions, and iCloud where you use those services.
- Vercel, for hosting the marketing website and server routes.
- Resend, for beta, onboarding, and marketing email delivery where email sending is configured.
- Team notification tools, such as Slack or Discord webhooks, if configured for internal beta signup notifications.
- Retailer and product websites when you choose to open a shopping link from GetUp.
We do not sell your personal information. If data is transferred internationally, we use provider safeguards and contractual protections where required.
Storage and retention
The iOS app stores your wardrobe and media locally on your device as its immediate source of truth. Some account, wardrobe, image, entitlement, AI usage, and sync records may also be stored with Supabase, Apple iCloud, or other configured providers so app features can work across sessions and devices.
We keep records only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. For example, beta signup records are kept while beta recruitment and tester follow-up are active; consent records may be kept so we can evidence what was agreed; subscription and transaction records may be kept as required for entitlement, tax, accounting, dispute, and fraud prevention purposes; and technical logs may be kept for security and reliability.
Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information, including account authentication, server-side secrets, row-level access controls for user-owned Supabase data, storage rules, and limited administrative access. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so please use a strong password and keep your device and Apple account secure.
Your rights
Depending on where you live and which law applies, you may have rights to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate information;
- ask us to delete information where we no longer need it or where you withdraw consent;
- ask us to restrict or object to certain uses, including uses based on legitimate interests;
- ask for a portable copy of information you provided, where this applies;
- withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent, including marketing consent.
To make a request, email hello@getup.style. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, that is the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as GetUp changes. When we make material changes, we will update this page and may notify users through the app, website, or email where appropriate. Current policy version: 2026-06-12-v1.
